Not Photogenic?
Consider yourself “not photogenic?”
Have you ever told someone you are “not photogenic?”
What made you feel that way?
Was it because of the way you looked in snapshots or poorly made ‘studio’ portraits or year after year of dismal school photos?
Is it because you feel you don’t look like a covergirl or a model or an actor or the most popular person at school? Is it because you are not blonde and blue-eyed?
This is how many people feel. After meeting so many people of all ages who felt they are not ‘photogenic’ I have come to the conclusion to start a personal “mission.” My mission is to prove to you that you are indeed photogenic! (Can you tell I really believe this?)
You are more photogenic than you know!
I can prove it to you too.
As you look over my Portfolio of Portraits shown here on this website or on my online Portfolio, you should remember this truth: Almost every one of the people I photograph has told me they don’t feel ‘photogenic’ or they don’t look good in photographs! Consider that for a moment. Think about the portraits you just saw in my website. Did you see people whose portraits stimulated you somehow? Did some look pretty? Did some lookhandsome? Did some look smart? Did some look sexy? Did some look interesting? Did some look artsy or creative? Did they look ‘photogenic?’ What do you think?
Here is my motto and something for you to remember: It is not how the ‘camera sees’ you, it is how the photographer or artist sees you! That is the crucial difference that will prove to you that you are indeed photogenic. You just need to find the right photographer or artist. That should be easy now.
You may not believe it until you see it for yourself when I show you your own Unforgettable PortraitTM, but I can prove to you that you are photogenic!

Key Points to Remember:
- Most people don’t think they are photogenic.
- Most people depend on poorly made photographs to show how the look.
- People photographed by Steadman are usually WOWed by the results.
- People photographed by Steadman often have their own self-esteem boosted when they see how ‘photogenic’ they can be.

Here is my personal motto and I hope you will consider it very carefully:
It is not how the ‘camera sees’ you!
It is how the photographer or artist sees you!
That is the crucial difference. Remember this.
Here are my two strong suggestions or “rules”:
1. Don’t judge yourself by how you look in snapshots!
2. Don’t judge yourself by how you look in poorly made professional ‘studio’ portraits either!
Will it really work for you too? We can only find out by trying. That is all it takes. If you try you might find another way of looking at yourself that will make a difference in how you feel about yourself for a lifetime! Imagine that! A lifetime of feeling good about yourself.
I have ‘helped’ many people see themselves in a new light. This has literally brought tears to the eyes of my clients and the people that love them and even strangers. I have had so many hugs and kisses from people who were thrilled by their “real” portrait that I know how this affects my clients. Parents have told me how it made a “huge difference” in how their teenagers felt about themselves. Adults have said so many touching things about how they feel about their own portraits that I get choked up reading their letters. It is a humbling experience for me. The truth is: it happens all the time in my work.
Still not convinced you are photogenic? Have some doubts? Have some fears something about you will somehow not look good in a photo or portrait? Read the Next Page before you give reach that conclusion.
