This website is provided to answer questions and show you many examples of the art created by Steadman Uhlich. The following FAQ questions and answers are based on the many typical questions people asked when visiting the SUFA Art Gallery and when calling on the phone to inquire about a portrait session. In total there are over 100 different but commonly asked questions answered here.

After looking over the list of questions and answers, If your question is not answered in the FAQ, then please feel free to call Steadman.

The most frequently asked question is:
“Can I get a copy of your price list?”

Steadman’s answer is:
“There is no price list. Every portrait project is different. No two clients have ever wanted the same thing. There is no typical ‘sitting fee plus print package.’ If you are interested in a truly special custom portrait for you or for someone you love, simply call me after reviewing this website and let’s discuss what you want me to make for you. That costs you nothing but a little time and it makes sure you get what you want. Call now and tell me what you have in mind. The Studio number up above in the red Contact Box on this and every other page on this site.

Why can’t I buy a photo from the website?

This basic website was created as a convenience for you in order to provide general information about the Steadman Uhlich Fine Art Collection (SUFA), Steadman Uhlich (the Artist), and to answer commonly asked questions and requests for general information. There are over 350 unique portraits on this website and 180 in another linked online portfolio and 50 Global Favorites (see link in upper left of this page)!

A complex website showing many photos of the hundreds of artworks available for purchase is under construction and will replace this website when it is finished.

Because of the extent of the Steadman Uhlich Collection, it is a big project and takes time to create. We do not sell artwork via a website so the Studio needs are different from many other businesses. We invite you to meet the artist in person to see our extensive collection and the original artwork framed.Art gallery visitors are impressed and we are confident you will be too. We invite you to read the “Comments from Visitors” (click the links on the left of this page) to give you an idea of what you may see when you see the SUFA Collection.

Can I get a portrait made by Steadman?

Yes. This is a fine art Studio that offers many different art related services as well as art for sale. The owner and artist, Steadman Uhlich enjoys creating commissioned artwork and portraits (link at left) for clients. Call today (phone number is below) and tell him what you would like made for you.
People have been coming from around the country and from abroad to have Steadman Uhlich create a portrait for them. He is renowned for his “amazing” portraits. You need to see for yourself.

There is never any pressure to buy and no manipulative sales tactics. You will be surprised. We also encourage you to read actual Quotes by Steadman’s Portrait Clients (link above).

I called directory assistance and looked in my phone book and could not find a listing for Steadman Uhlich. Why?

The SUFA Studio phone number is 205-317-7832 and is a wireless number and consequently unlisted in the telephone directory or in directory assistance. This is the phone number you should call for all voice communication. This is the number on our business cards, brochures, posters and website.

I called the above wireless phone number several times and never got an answer. Why?

The fact is that the Studio gets many phone calls during the day. The first priority is to meet with potential clients who are actually interested in art or a portrait. Please leave a detailed voicemail message and we will return your call as soon as possible but this may be a few hours if Steadman is traveling, conducting photography sessions, or meeting clients.

Does the gallery work with interior designers?

Yes. The SUFA Studio works with professional interior designers and architects to provide artwork that meets their design needs and gives their clients “WOW” art.

With literally hundreds of unique artworks to choose from and hundreds of frames in stock, the variations and unique combinations give the professional designer practically countless options that work with antique or contemporary furnishings. Design and display flexibility is our strength.

Leading design professionals not only admire and recommend the work of Steadman Uhlich, they also find his helpful attitude refreshing. Steadman’s courtesy to the design trade is always appreciated by design professionals.

The area’s leading interior designers such as Richard Tubbs, Phillip Sides, Sean Beam, David Walker, and Holly Shirley have all seen the beauty and design of Steadman Uhlich’s work and selected his work for display in their showcase rooms in the Decorator Showhouse homes in Birmingham and Highlands, North Carolina.

Can I arrange a private showing of the art at a time during or outside of normal business hours?

Yes. We make every possible effort to make it convenient for art collectors to view the art prior to purchase. If you have special needs due to work or travel schedules, please call and let us know. Please be aware that if you call and do not receive voicemail, it simply means we are helping another client. Please leave a detailed voicemail message and we will return your call as soon as possible.

Will Steadman Uhlich travel to conduct a portrait session at the client’s home or out of state?

Yes, that is possible. The quality of the finished portrait is still at the highest levels and no one can tell the difference from a photograph created in Steadman’s studio. In fact, many of the portraits in Steadman’s Portfolio were created in a home, apartment, or place of business.

Can I sell or represent The Steadman Uhlich Collection in my area?

Yes, that is possible. Qualified art galleries and art dealers can sell or represent the hundreds of beautful artworks in The Steadman Uhlich Collection. Call to ask how.

Does Steadman Uhlich use or need models?

No. Steadman Uhlich does not use models. All portraits of people are “commissioned” portraits where Steadman has been paid to make the portrait using his unique styles and skills. Duplicates of some of these portrait images (especially the “Art Style”) are available for purchase by art and photography collectors. All people portrait images have a “release.”

Can I have a photo or art custom-made to a special size for me?

Yes. Steadman Uhlich often makes artwork and photographs to the size needed by a client or designer. How big can this be? They could be big enough to fill a bill-board you see on the highway. Size is not a limitation. In fact, some of Steadman’s fine art photographs have already been made up to 60 inches tall and they are “stunning.”
